Lust im Prinzip

Life is easy

2021 50 x 50 cm

“Life is easy, and everyone can be happy.” This is a core statement of the psychotherapist and philosopher Alfred Adler, a contemporary of Sigmund Freud. A couple who have grown wings through their happiness in love. Intertwined, they can ascend to heaven and rise above profane earthly life. The gilded background, which is a stylistic device of icon painting, underlines the sacred nature of the act of love. Love is a power from heaven.

Love in Times of Corona or Rescue Dream

2021 50×50 cm

May I be happy when the world is going down? This question does not only arise in times of the corona pandemic in which this picture was taken. Furthermore, the war in Ukraine and, in general, considering all the wars and catastrophes that afflict humanity. Before an undefinable against a black and white background, the small green island seems to be gliding along a dark stream. Under a canopy of banana trees sits a woman who looks both provocative and innocent at the same time. Despite her long gray hair, she looks youthful. Some colorful birds and a lamb have found refuge with her in this little paradise in the midst of darkness. Is she looking at us, or is she looking for something? What could that be? The place where she can anchor to live, to love, and to be healed?

Siegfried and Brünhild

2021  43×43 cm

The title refers to the hero of the Nibelungen saga, Siegfried. He stands with his back to us. He is naked except for a leather belt, appears neither exhausted nor battle-scarred. Furthermore, he casually holds his sword with his fingers spread. Confident in victory, he wades in the blood of the dragon, in which he will later bathe and thus gain invulnerability. Only the leaf on his back prevents his complete inviolability and will ultimately be his undoing. The nonchalance is provocative, as it shows superhuman strength and bravery. Dressed in innocent white, Brünhild, the world's strongest woman and Queen of Iceland, looks on. It seems as if she would rather not let it be known that she is deeply impressed by Siegfried's deed. So far, she had not met a man who was stronger than her, and she would only give herself to him. She falls in love with him, but he rejects and betrays her. What happens to us through unfulfilled desire and indifference to our passion, humbled pride, and unfulfilled desires? In this saga, it ends with the annihilation of an entire kingdom and the death of countless warriors and innocent people.

Adam F. 68 and Eve P. 64

2021 43×43 cm

It takes a little moment for Adam and Eve to become visible behind all the flowers and butterflies raining down from the golden sky. They've gotten older, but they've reclaimed paradise! Adam sits naked, very relaxed, smiling, and absorbed in a chair. What is he thinking about right now? Busty Eva stands beside him with a seductive smile, the apple of knowledge in her hand. She is not frightened by the snake coiled on her legs. Both have eaten from the apple of knowledge more often in their lives; they are no longer as naive as they used to be. They no longer allow themselves to be persuaded that nudity and physical love are sinful.

The unsatisfied saint

2121 39×39 cm

In the foreground sits a naked woman amid countless objects that are constantly raining down from the sky and seem to excite her. In the crowd, all these objects seem like useless rubbish that threatens to sink them. Some objects have a phallic character. In the mirror next to her, we see her rubbing a dildo on her vulva. A kind of halo formed by a mirror hovers over her head. Is that a coincidence? The equally agitated man in the background, his head covered with a mask, looks longingly in her direction. Doesn't he dare to approach her, to confess his desire? Is he afraid of rejection? Are you afraid of surrender? To what extent does material consumption serve as a fetish today, onto which we transfer our sexual desire fearlessly and seemingly decently?

The Club

2021 43×43 cm

We open a door and enter the club. We dive into a dimly lit room full of bodies whose contours are initially difficult to differentiate. The gaze wanders back and forth and takes in more and more details of the unbridled erotic activity. There is no doubt that an orgy is taking place here! The feather headdress and the animal masks of several participants underline the animal character of the event. Only the woman in the red latex body in the background is looking at us openly and seems to be asking us to come in and join in. Would I like to be drawn in? Or would I rather quickly close the door again because it shocks and disgusts me? Am I confused and don't know what to make of this? Would I like to observe what is happening from a quiet corner?

A wild night

2021 44×44 cm

A wild night these three want to spend together. If something gets out of hand, the number of the fire brigade does not have to be searched for long. Have fun!

Stay with me

2021 43×43 cm

In front of a red curtain in the background, we see a black bar construction to which two women are chained in BDSM style. A naked man lies in the lap of the woman in the right foreground. He grabs your breast, licks his lips, and seems completely immersed in his inner world. You could almost think he feels as comfortable as a baby that has just been breastfed. Tenderness and vulnerability, as well as the exercise of power, enter into an erotic alliance in this picture. Why does it excite many people to surrender or dominate? How is it with you?

Mother's Day

2022 43×43 cm

This picture provokes at first glance, due to the mixture of sexual acts and children's toys. A young man masturbates. In his hand he holds flowers and a swatter. He looks down. You can't tell if he's looking at the toys heaped up there, or if he's closing his eyes to be with himself and enjoy, or because he's uncomfortable. A bound woman in an erotic dress is kneeling to his left. Her face is hidden under a cloth. Why are there toys everywhere? Is it the man's former nursery? Wasn't he able to part with his toys? And if so, why? Can't he grow up because something crucial was missing in his childhood? Love, physical affection. Does he look for this in erotic relationships with women? The title might suggest that. The ambivalence between worship symbolized by flowers and candles and the desire for a woman's submission is palpable. And what moves you to give yourself to him in this way? Does she, too, unconsciously try to erotically deal with negative bonding experiences in childhood? Or is it perhaps quite different?

The Fountain of Youth, after Lukas Cranach the Elder

2021 43×43 cm

Let's look at it with a wink! Just like in the prototype, we see a pool in the foreground, the fountain of youth, in a landscape divided into two. On the left, a scorched, parched earth, old age, and on the right, a fresh green one, youth. But instead of invigorating water, this fountain of youth is filled with erect penises. Two young women seem to be enjoying the bath. An old woman carefully steps into the pool. She wants to be young again. An older couple seems to be saying goodbye in an intimate embrace. Will she also climb into the well? And him? What about him? Is there also a fountain of youth for men? Will you still feel connected after the transformation? The young woman in the foreground confidently presents her beauty and regained youth. She obviously took a penis from the fountain of youth. Should he guarantee her eternal youth? Is that desirable? This topic has obviously been on people's minds for a long time.

Peepshow

2021 41×41 cm

A young woman lies naked and spread-eagled on a bright pink, circular base. She is the center of the picture and is the focus, not just of our attention. Many men's hands grabbing and touching her everywhere. Apart from the hands and forearms, nothing can be seen of the men. The woman seems to be watching what is happening attentively. Is it a pipe dream to be desired and touched by so many men? Or has the dream turned into a nightmare?

Miners of love

2021 43×43 cm

We see a mountain of female body parts: breasts, buttocks, and vulvae. Then there are naked men, some with erect members, who obviously enjoy the concentrated female physicality. Of course, you can be shocked or disgusted by this scenery, especially as a woman. It does seem to confirm certain assumptions women have about men. “They only want sex without love.” They don't care about me as a person.” All but one wear a blue helmet as a common feature. The other is wearing a hunter's hat. Why do you need the helmets? In order not to be completely naked? Is it a kind of uniform that creates a sense of togetherness? Or do you actually require protection because you are scared, despite all the masculinity on display? Fear of what? In front of the whole woman, denying her needs, ridiculing her lust? Obviously, there is a lot of distrust and misunderstanding between men and women. Certainly, often out of negative experiences. Maybe this picture can still put a smile on your face at second glance?

Bungle in the Jungle (after Jethro Tull)

2021 100×70 cm

We see a lush jungle populated by fabulous hybrid creatures. They indulge in sexual pleasure under the starry night sky. Should these beings refer us to our animal nature? Georges Bataille, a French philosopher, writes in his book “The Erotic”: “The animality or sexual exuberance is that in us by which we cannot be reduced to a thing.”

Rising from the Ruins

2022 100×80 cm

In the ruins of a formerly magnificent Gothic church whose pillars still reach up to the sky, a large crowd of people has gathered, who indulge in their lust hastily. The formerly stone floor has been reclaimed by nature and transformed into a flower-strewn meadow. Everything takes place in broad daylight in front of a magnificent mountain panorama. Nobody wants to hide here anymore. A golden angel perched high on a ledge seems to be blessing the company. On another pillar, we see a grim reaper reminding us to use our lifetime. The eye is drawn to the niche, perhaps the former chancel of the church. She is the optical center. There we see several naked figures being grabbed and manhandled by devils. This part comes from the triptych “The Garden of Earthly Delights” by Hieronymus Bosch, and Hell is shown here. Christianity has tried to demonize the orgy, which in antiquity was understood as a harmony between sensual lust and religious ecstasy. But she didn't quite succeed. During the carnival period, it was definitely still present for a limited time. The viewer can decide for himself whether the crowd is moving towards hell or has freed itself from it.

Untouchable

2022 100×70 cm

A grandiose starry sky illuminates the fantastic scenery next to some candles. Although placed at the front left edge of the picture, the man leaning against a cross appears to be the center of the picture. He gives himself completely to the caress of his penis. The other people, as different as they are, show and move naturally and freely, without shame. More and more people are pouring in from the background, wanting to take part. Untouchable is written in large letters above the counter on the right edge of the picture. Is it a reference to our Basic Law, where it says, “Human dignity is inviolable” and “Everyone is entitled to the free development of their personality”.

The Rape of the Sabine Women

2023 80×67 cm

The Rape of the Sabine Women is a theme that has been explored countless times in art history. Why? In earlier times, it probably offered a harmless opportunity to depict and view female bodies in semi-naked poses, because in the heat of battle, a blouse or skirt can easily slip. Today, this is no longer necessary.

Why might the ancient myth still be relevant to us today? Originally, he tells us about the abduction of the Romans, who, under the founder of the still young city, Romulus, tried to get women for themselves, because without women, it doesn't work! After being rejected by the rulers of the surrounding peoples, they lured their neighbors into the city under the pretext of a festival and chased the surprised men away. When the robbed and humiliated Sabines returned after some time to get their women back, the women stood between their current Roman husbands and their relatives. They wanted to prevent a bloodbath. They succeeded in making peace, and a very successful dual rule was established. Today, it seems strange to us when men believe they can own women. We advocate for women's freedom to choose their partners. We rightly denounce the abuses that still exist in many cultures. But I wonder, aren't today's right-wing ideologues in our society, who want to protect “their” women from “uncivilized savages,” just as abusive? Behind this ostensible desire to protect women, aren't they rather hiding their fear of losing out in the competition for women?
